Sarah Harbuck, resident photographer

Meet Harbuck & Co. Photography

From an early age Sarah has had a camera in hand and taking photos of everything and anything. In high school, her interest in photography intensified as she took photographs for the school paper & yearbook. When she entered college, she decided to pursue a degree in photojournalism. She started out with an old 35mm Canon AE-1 Program film camera and learned to develop film and work in a darkroom.

Now she uses a professional dSLR (Canon 5D Mark III) to capture her images and Photoshop/Lightroom to edit those images. She works freelance taking photos of families, seniors, engaged couples, brides and specializing in weddings. When she's not working with people she's photographing artistic things all around her, events at Standpipe Coffee House & of course her own family.

She's a mother to 3 children and a wife to her husband for 18 years.  She enjoys reading, watching movies, and digital scrapbooking memories of her family as well as traveling. She's a long time resident of East Texas and currently lives in Lufkin.

Sarah has been a member of PPA and TPPA since January 2016.

A message from the Photographer:

Hello! Photography has been a passion of mine since childhood. As an eager 7 year old, I took the most horrendous photos of scenery and people and totally random objects. They were blurry, people's heads were cut off, and they were usually crooked.  At the time I thought I was a true artist. =) Thankfully as the years passed, my talent with a camera got a little better. It really surged when I had children of my own and wanted to capture lasting memories of their lives.

One of the things I love most about being a photographer is that for a small portion of time, I become a member of our client's family. I get to witness some of the happiest hours of their lives and capture all of it on film. To know that the photos I take will hang in their homes for years to come and will help them relive the joys of that magical day.

When you hire me, you don't just get a photographer, you get a friend to follow you on one of the most important days of your life. You get someone who truly wants you to have the best day & have it all documented in the most stress-free way possible.

I look forward to working with you and celebrating such a joyous occasion with you!

Sincerely,
